Contracts of Employment and Deeds of Apprenticeship
Designed to meet the needs of this industry. These are regularly updated to keep abreast of changing legislation and the precedent established by the courts and are free to all members (excluding solo and affiliates). The Contract of Employment contains the Staff Handbook at the end and the Apprenticeship Deed contains the Apprenticeship Contract and the Staff Handbook. All documents should be issued to the employee with the employer retaining a copy for the individuals personell file.

Employment Record Cards
These are provided to help with employment administration so that information regarding absence and pay is readily available should you have a compliance visit from the Inland Revenue about the National Minimum Wage or Working Time Regulations.

Legal Lifeline Services
To help you manage disputes members are issued with a Legal Lifeline Card. This gives you 24/7 contact by telephone to a panel of legal advisers with free advice that covers all employment law. Advice on Commercial Law, Health and Safety and Tax. Payroll Queries are only available between 9.00 am - 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.
Legal Representation
The policy carries an excess payment of £750.00 for each and every claim accepted by Croners.
Payment of the excess fee is the responsibility of the member and should be paid in full directly to Croner.
For salon owners who have taken and followed the legal lifeline advice Croner provides assistance with the cost of legal representation in excess of the first £750.00 up to a maximum of £50,000 to help defend action against you brought by employees or ex-employees before an Employment Tribunal. For Restrictive Covenants the legal costs and expenses in excess of the first £750.00 up to a maximum of £50,000 may also be covered provided the employee is on a NHF Contract of Employment.

Health & Safety
Access to Health & Safety advice is available via the legal helpline Monday - Friday 9.00 am - 5.00 pm. All members are entitled to a free Health and Safety Pack which includes a Health and Safety Booklet for each of your staff.

PPL Licence Fees
The Federation have negotiated reduced licence fees for salons registered with us. This is a 10% reduction in cost.

Tax & VAT Disputes
The tax authorities can also be a source of annoyance. As part of the membership we help with the cost of professional fees and legal fees to protect your interests, this covers in depth Inland Revenue investigations, PAYE and National Insurance disputes where the revenue is dissatisfied with your records. Similarly, if you are investigated by Customs and Excise and you are not happy with their decision, or require help and assistance, the professional fees to enable you to pursue an appeal to a VAT Tribunal may be covered, subject to an excess fee of £750.00 and up to a maximum of £50,000. Criminal matters are excluded and you are expected to have maintained reasonable records and to have submitted your returns by the due date.
