Industry Representation

One of the main benefits of membership is that individual members have a direct voice in all matters affecting the craft thanks to the Federation's involvement with other influential organisations within and outside the industry.
These include Government departments, parliament and European Union officials, the Hairdressing Council, the Consumer Industry Services Authority, HABB, World Hair, Confederation of British Industry, The Forum of Private Business, European Association of Craft, Small or Medium Sizes Enterprises (UEAPME), Coiffure Europe and Organisation Mondiale de la Coiffure.

The success of the Federation's lobbying at the highest levels of Government is sometimes a forgotten benefit of membership. The need for this has become increasingly important with the never-ending changes to employment law and aspects relating to the successful running of a modern day business.

Low Pay Commission

The Low Pay Commission in particular now affords the federation a great amount of respect with regard to its input and opinion on the National Minimum Wage.
