Please see below typical scenarios that we help our members with daily:
No one listens:
Q: Who can I speak to on how the increase in NMW & NLW impacts my business?
A: We regularly ask our members on their views on the NMW & NLW through surveys which we then share with the Low Pay Commission.
Q: I want to get involved and support the industry.
A: We regularly ask our members to get involved, whether that’s completing an online survey, testing a new product or service we’re going to launch, contributing to salonfocus magazine or being involved though focus & networking groups.
Important to you:
Q: How do you know what is important to our industry?
A: We regularly ask our members for their views and feedback. We attend exhibitions and events, so we can meet with salon and barbershop owners. This helps us capture our campaigning objectives each year. Becoming a member of the NBF gives you access to a whole host of benefits but it also gives you a bigger voice and the NBF a bigger voice when we’re fighting on important topics such as VAT, NMW/NLW and training standards.

“The NBF fights our corner in areas such as apprenticeship standards and on reducing VAT for what is a labour-intensive industry. It also keeps us information on the National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage, and what this means for small businesses.’
