Trailblazers are employer-led groups responsible for developing new style Apprenticeship standards for delivery from May 2015.

The employer groups are supported by Habia, the standards setting body for the hair and beauty sector, and the NHBF, the trade association for hairdressing, barbering and beauty salon owners.

Working with other industry bodies such as the Fellowship, the Hairdressing Council, the British Barbers Association, BABTAC and FHT, we would like to get a wider range of views from employers on the draft standards and high level assessment before they are signed off in June.

The consultation will be completed via an online survey which will be available on both the Habia and the NHBF websites from 16 May.  Before you answer the survey questions, if you'd like to know more about how the draft standards were developed, what's in them and why, the principles of what will be assessed and how, do come along to one of three free events jointly hosted by NHBF and Habia:

Monday 19 May 5.30 to 7pm - Poulton-le-Fylde Lancashire

Tuesday 20 May 5.30 to 7pm - West Smithfield, London

Wednesday 21 May 5.30 to 7pm - Leicester

Places are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.  Priority will be given to employers, but colleges and training providers are welcome to book for any remaining places. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
