Talented stylists of all levels can now enter Step Up & SHINE 2018 for a chance to win a year-long £2,500 bespoke education and mentoring programme. Step Up & SHINE was launched in honour of industry legend, Christofer Mann, in association with the NHBF and the Fellowship, to nurture passionate stylists from the UK who may not have access to quality training.
How to enter Step Up & SHINE
To win this incredible scholarship and be mentored by renowned industry expert, Debbie G, entrants need to explain why they are the ideal candidate. They must complete a short application form detailing their hairdressing background and ambitions, and record a 60 second video on Instagram to support their application using the hashtag, #stepupandshine18.
Step Up & SHINE's 2017 winner
2017’s Step Up & SHINE winner was 18-year-old hairdresser Evie Scrowston from Hays Salon in Hull. The keen stylist began her educational journey with ghd, Vidal Sassoon and L’Oréal courses before having the opportunity to support Debbie G on stage at Salon International.
Evie Scrowston comments: “My Step UP & SHINE journey has been incredible! I’ve attended courses to develop my career and learned skills that I have taken back to the salon. The pinnacle was being on stage with Debbie G at Salon International…it was an experience I will never forget!”
Step Up & SHINE mentor Debbie G comments:
“Christofer was a huge supporter of grass-roots hairdressing and believed wholeheartedly in the concept of education for all. The Scholarship is open to any stylist or assistant of any age and any level, anywhere in the UK. No experience is necessary but the drive and enthusiasm to learn is!”
