The NHBF Welsh Region organised the first ever "Welsh Hairdressing awards©" that culminated in a fantastic awards ceremony at the Cardiff Masonic Hall.
With over 5000 votes in the last few weeks the event captured the imagination of both salons and the public. The event has been organised to recognise and reward the best hair professionals in Wales.
The nomination and voting system was completely free to entrants and voters, (open to NHBF and non NHBF members) a key factor in trying to create a highly inclusive event. The event was designed to heighten the profile of hairdressing/barbering in Wales and to give the real judges of our industry , the consumer a chance to say who they think is the "Best in Wales".
And what a success ; The sell-out , red carpet event was attended by salons from all over Wales , with sponsors from all over the UK flying in to support what is sure to be a regular fixture on the event and party calendar. President of NHBF Wales , Carl Hinder hosted the event with support from sponsors and partners.
The Awards evening opened with a highly professional walk from Cardiff Fashion week models , supported by the NHBF Welsh Artistic team directed by Michelle Marshall.
The surprise of the evening was a "flash mob" presentation from "Have a go theatre" who created a dance dressed as waiters/waitress’ and left everyone wondering if things could get any better ? In many ways they did , with the announcement of the nominees and winners!
As impossible as it sounds the energy and noise levels went up another level with fantastic Welsh band 4thstreet traffic playing the event to a crescendo. One thing is for sure , people will be talking about this night for a very long time.
