2 May 2019

On Wednesday 1 May 2019, the Hair & Beauty Community Awards run by the NHBF and the NHBF (NHBF) took place at a reception held at the Houses of Parliament. The awards were launched in 2019 to recognise and promote the fantastic work hair salons, barbershops and beauty salons do to support their local communities.

Kelly Tolhurst, Minister for Small Business, Paul Uppal, the Small Business Commissioner, Mark Pawsey and many other MPs attended the Hair & Beauty Community Awards to learn more about the sector and their contribution to high streets. The reception was also attended by hair and beauty business owners from across the country who were invited to attend as a result of entering the awards.

It was a privilege for the Hair & Beauty Community Awards to be attended by Ministers and MPs who were able to gain an insight into the hair and beauty sector

NHBF President, Agnes Leonard said: “The Houses of Parliament reception was a huge success! It was a privilege for the Hair & Beauty Community Awards to be attended by Ministers and MPs who were able to gain an insight into the hair and beauty sector.

“I would like to say a huge congratulations to the winners of our Community Awards! We were blown away by the number of inspirational entries we received which highlighted to us just how much businesses in the hair and beauty industry do for their local communities and for national and local charities.”
