The NHBF is excited to announce the launch of its brand new business coaching and advice service specifically designed to help hair and beauty salons and barber shops to become more successful and profitable.

The NHBF Business Academy draws on the experience of a vastly experienced team of trainers, business mentors and coaches, all of whom have decades of know-how running successful businesses within the industry.

The academy is offering salon business owners three different levels of support:

First, it will continue with its business training programme, available to both NHBF member and non-member salons. Owners will also be able to buy in training for direct delivery by academy trainers on their own business premises.

Second, the NHBF has set up a dedicated business support helpline, providing a free 15-minute one-to-one phone consultation with an academy expert. This complements the NHBF’s existing legal helpline and will only be available as a benefit to NHBF members.

Finally, the academy offers tailored business coaching for salons and barber shops up and down the country. This includes a professional review during a half-day visit to the salon by an academy expert, who will work with the business owner to develop an action plan. Then there’s three months of ongoing telephone or email coaching support of up to an hour per month, with a follow-up half-day visit to review progress and agree further action.

NHBF president Agnes Leonard said: “However successful you may have been as a stylist, barber or beauty therapist, running your own salon business can be a daunting experience.
“The skills and knowledge you need are very different to working on the salon floor, and that’s where the NHBF Business Academy is able to help, by offering salon owners practical, no-nonsense advice and guidance from some of the most experienced business leaders in the industry.

“The NHBF Business Academy is an exciting new chapter for the Federation, and goes to the heart of what the NHBF is about – helping salons owners to run successful businesses while also helping our industry to be a respected, thriving addition to the high street and local communities.”
