NHBF State of Industry survey is now closed

The latest State of Industry from the NHBF is now closed. Thank you to everyone who took part. The results from the survey will be published in due course.

Your voice matters, and taking part in such surveys helps the NHBF to voice the industry's biggest concerns to the highest places in Government. 

Last time, your valuable input made a huge impact. Thanks to your survey responses, we presented compelling evidence to the Low Pay Commission, the Migration Advisory Committee, and Parliament. Together, we advocated for fair wages, addressed skills gaps, and pushed for increased support for businesses to take on apprentices.

ONS labour market statics 

According to data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the UK is still facing labour shortages, even though the number of vacancies has decreased in the quarter.

From April to June 2023, the estimated number of vacancies fell by 85,000 in the quarter to 1,034,000. Vacancies fell in the quarter for the 12th consecutive period.

Are you interested in being considered for a place on our apprentice panel?

The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) launched its annual recruitment campaign to attract apprentices interested in joining their apprentice panel. The campaign will run until Monday, 31 July 2023.

As an apprentice panel member, you'll be a visible and enthusiastic ambassador for apprenticeships. You'll gather insights from other apprentices and ensure these are understood by those with the power to change things for the better. You'll also work with IfATE and others to ensure that apprenticeship standards are as good as possible.

The campaign provides an open and transparent opportunity for apprentices from all backgrounds and sectors to put themselves forward for consideration. You can read more about this opportunity on their website

 

Take part in a workshop to explore how managers can better support staff members

The Work Foundation, an independent think tank, is searching for 20 managers to participate in two online workshops during the summer. This project is funded by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and aims to explore ways managers can efficiently support their employees in the workplace. You can apply by completing a survey, and all successful applicants will receive a £30 voucher for participation.
